Reminder: Be Here Now, Do Something Now ❤️
The NY brings thoughts of resolutions & change. Reflection about all that transpired and what has yet to set form. These last few months have been about living with intention, at least more mindful about my presence or the lack thereof & it’s been tough. We all wear so many different hats & place various expectations on ourselves, that being fully present is often so far removed from our reality. It’s the last thing on our mind. Instead of practicing mindfulness, we are moving throughout our days mindlessly. “Wait, did I lock the door?” Or “What was I doing again?” Sound familiar? For me, Absolutely. More so than I would like to admit. These thoughts seem to be on the rise. It’s been a year where I’ve struggled to get through the ‘busy-ness’ of the days much less check in, ground myself and think-“be here now.” So, My intention this year, this decade, this life-is to feel, sense, and be with, the daily reminder that the only moment that truly exists is right here, right now. Bottom line.
But how do you plan for the future while also being in the present moment? You do plan for the future but rather than being on the constant worry about the what needs to happen, what if’s, shoulda coulda woulda’s, coupled with living in a chronic state of stress, we take action in the present moment. This allows us to not only move towards our future goals, as well as accomplish small steps, it keeps us in the here and now. I am doing something now that will make my future self happy. Or I am doing something now that is in alignment with my future vision-whatever it is that resonates with you. Something that is action oriented, attainable and healthy. It’s a powerful tool. When our thoughts get carried away, we remind ourselves of the true reality, reel ourselves back into the moment and do one actionable step. It’s a win-win.
So, this moment-sitting at the kitchen table, writing these words is all that truly exists. And with that said, I know my future self does not do well with hours of technology. So, for my own self care & wellness, Goodnight & Goodbye for now! #wellness #Newyear #2020 #mindbody #intentionalliving #❤️ #mindfulness #yoga #yogaoffthemat
