YOUnity Wellness Center supports, advocates for and encourages Healthy and Happy Living. We strive towards seeking wellness as a whole and this means, implementing therapeutic practices for our mind and body.
Our practice focuses on the combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness practices and the implementation of movement.
Within the session, we focus on what brought you here in the first place and delve into the patterns of the mind while grounding ourselves in the present moment. Our thought patterns can either act as our best friend or our worst enemy. With this increased sense of personal awareness, we are able to pause for a moment and simply observe versus following old habits of reactivity. We learn to experience life with more clarity, compassion and understanding.
There are moments when we may carry so much hurt, or pain and may be so far removed from the present moment or so disconnected from ourselves, that we lose sight as to what is really transpiring within this journey of Life.
To help initiate being present with what is arising, we may explore questions such as:
What is happening right now?
Can you stay with what is happening?
Can you breathe into what is happening, or can you breathe with what is happening right now?
If we continue living in the past or worried about the future, we miss out on present day living. Exploring what brought you here today helps begin the journey of self exploration, understanding, growth and healing.
But the therapy session doesn’t end here. Just as we show up to nourish the mind, we must also dedicate time to nourish the body. We delve into the mind while also discussing the importance of healthy movement. We practice self care not only mentally and emotionally but also physically. How are we caring for our bodies? What does your physical movement look like? Do you have a daily practice in place? Do we care for our bodies with self-compassion, love and understanding?
